Normal batteries (AA and likewise) are allowed in your hand luggage without any restrictions.

However, if we´re speaking of lithium- or ion-batteries they have to live up to the following conditions:
  • Lithium-batteries can not contain more than 8 grams of lithium
  • No matter lithium- or ion-batteries, they can not exceed 160 Wh. If however they exceed 100 Wh, permission by the airline is required.
  • In the hand luggage it is only allowed to bring one battery in the device and up to two extra batteries.
  • It is permitted to bring lithium-batteries, both in your hand luggage and in your check-in luggage - however be aware, that loose reserve-batteries are not allowed in the check-in luggage.
  • Remember, that you need permission from the airline beforehand, in case you want to bring lithium-batteries, as they may be categorized as "Dangerous Goods".
